ODTÜ is a highly regarded international research university in its region. With over 1,700 international students, a strong focus on teaching and research, and extensive partnerships, it is the leading Turkish university in terms of international connections. All undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Engineering are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), the accreditation agency of the United States. ODTÜ is one of the few highly competitive universities in Turkey. ODTÜ has five faculties with 41 undergraduate programs, three of which are international joint programs, five institutes with 105 master’s and 70 doctoral programs, and the School of Foreign Languages, which provides education in English.

Qualıfıed Human Resources

ODTÜ’s objective is to instill humanitarian and moral values, respect for others, leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and self-renewal in its students. Each year, over one-third of the top 1,000 students who take the University Entrance Examination choose ODTÜ. Due to high demand, many departments accept only the top 3% of approximately 1.5 million students who take the University Entrance Examination. Each year, over 1,700 students with a specific academic degree from 94 different countries attend ODTÜ.

METU Research and Technology Development Infrastructure

ODTÜ is one of the universities with the most advanced laboratory and research center facilities in Turkey. ODTÜ TEKNOKENT companies have the opportunity to benefit from nearly 400 laboratories and over 40 research centers under special conditions.

Entrepreneurshıp Actıvıtıes and Incubatıon Centers

DUALSPARK”, one of the most important dual-use acceleration programs in Turkey, launched in 2024, “YFYI Acceleration Program” organized since 2005; ATOM (Animation Technologies and Game Development Center), a pre-incubation center where students can develop their ideas and projects in the field of game software and animation technologies and have the opportunity to establish their own companies, ETKIM Istasyon, a pre-incubation program designed with the coordination of the Ministry of National Education and the experience of ODTÜ TEKNOKENT, which aims to develop innovations and products that will provide solutions to the current needs of the education system, incubation centers where new companies are supported, the acceleration and investment company “Growth Circuit” for technology-based entrepreneurs in need of financing, and the investment funds “INVEST101” and “CARBON06” are among the projects, programs and investment funds that have been institutionally implemented to support technology-oriented entrepreneurship.

UnıversIty-Industry Collaboratıon

The “ODTÜ – TTO Technology Transfer Office”, which has been established within ODTÜ TEKNOKENT, is a structure that has been developed both to improve university-industry collaboration and to support technology-oriented entrepreneurship. The management of ODTÜ TEKNOKENT carries out the entire process, both financially and administratively, on behalf of academics, from obtaining patents to establishing companies in order to transform the academic knowledge produced at the university into commercial value. In addition, the joint projects and information exchange that ODTÜ TEKNOKENT companies have carried out with the university so far show the dimensions of the collaboration.

B2B and Clusters (Defense, ıCT and Advanced Health Technologıes)

ODTÜ TEKNOKENT operates three separate clusters in the fields of defense industry, informatics-telecommunications and advanced health technologies to enhance cooperation among more than 440 companies, each of which is a leader in its field. Teknokent Defense Industry Cluster “TSSK”, Teknokent Informatics and Telecommunications Cluster “T.ICT” and Teknokent Advanced Health Technologies Cluster “T.HEALTH”, which were established with the participation of companies, are making important efforts to increase the cooperation of companies among themselves and with METU. In addition, efforts are being made to establish advanced materials and health clusters to increase cooperation and synergy among companies in the advanced materials and health sectors.
